The purpose of this policy is to establish the University’s compliance with state law to provide unemployment insurance benefits to eligible former employees.
Employees are covered by unemployment insurance. This is a state insurance that provides monetary benefits for a defined period of time for those who are unemployed generally through no fault or choice of their own. Decisions regarding eligibility and amount of benefits are made by the State of Florida.
