Flu season preparations

Lynn University is actively working to respond and attempt to limit the spread of influenza in our area and on our campus. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease.

While there are many different flu viruses, the flu vaccine is designed to protect against the three main flu strains that cause the most illness during the flu season. Vaccine effectiveness can vary from year to year and among different age and risk groups. For the most protection we recommend you get vaccinated as soon as possible each year. For more information about vaccine effectiveness, read How Well Does the Flu Vaccine Work?.

Taking simple precautions like washing your hands and staying away from sick people can also help reduce the spread of germs. If you're sick with the flu, be sure to stay home from work or school to prevent spreading influenza to others.
