First year students

Application procedures

Lynn University encourages high school students to apply during the fall semester of their senior year. Applicants should submit the following:

  • Completed application form: lynn.edu/applynow. In addition to the Lynn University application, the Common Application is also accepted.
  • Personal statement
  • Official transcript(s) indicating all secondary school course work and graduation dates or GED score report.
  • Official SAT or ACT scores or an indication that your application is test optional. Lynn University’s school code for the SAT is 5437; the school code for the ACT is 0706.
  • Supportive documents:
    • Letter of recommendation from a school guidance counselor or teacher. The recommender should comment on the student’s academic performance, determination and motivation.
    • Activity resume listing extracurricular activities, volunteer work and/or hobbies.

Important deadlines

Fall SemesterNov. 15 – Early Action I

  • Complete application by November 15; submit supporting documents by December 1; receive admission decision by December 15.
  • Early action is a non-binding application for first-year students. Students admitted early action are not required to withdraw their applications to other institutions.

Fall Semester Jan. 15 – Early Action II

  • Complete application by January 15; submit supporting documents by February 1; receive admission decision by February 15.
  • Early action is a non-binding application for first-year students. Students admitted early action are not required to withdraw their applications to other institutions.

Fall SemesterFeb. 1 – Presidential Scholarship

Students who wish to be nominated for the Presidential Scholarship must be admitted by February 1. The Office of Admission will contact students who meet the eligibility requirements to apply by February 15. Students are required to submit their application by March 15 for consideration. Scholarship recipients are notified by April 1. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolling in the fall semester and is not combinable with other institutional awards. Fall SemesterMarch 1 – Regular Decision

  • Complete application and submit supporting documents by March 1; receive admission decision by March 15.
  • Applications completed after March 1 will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Fall SemesterMay 1 – Deposit

  • All enrollment deposits are due. This deposit is credited to the student’s account and is nonrefundable after May 1 for fall semester applicants.

Spring SemesterDec. 1

  • Complete application and submit supporting documents by December 1; admission decisions released on a rolling basis.
  • Applications completed after December 1 will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Enrollment deposits for the spring semester are nonrefundable.

Admitted applicants should submit a deposit to reserve a place in the class. Admission to the university is contingent upon a student’s successful graduation from high school.

The Office of Admission must receive a final transcript with proof of high school graduation prior to the start of the semester for first-year students.

The Office of Admission reserves the right to rescind an offer of admission for submitting inaccurate or misleading information, academic dishonesty or discipline issues before the student enrolls at Lynn University.
