Elementary Education K-12Professional Licensure Disclosure

Program preparation for professional licensure or certification

Lynn University participates in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), which allows us to provide online/distance learning program and coursework to students from states other than Florida. Lynn is committed to providing clear and accurate information to current and prospective students to help inform career planning which prepares students to practice in a field with professional licensure or certification available. However, this participation does not grant reciprocity or exempt us from state professional licensing requirements. Specific licensure and certification requirements can vary by state1. Requirements typically include earning a degree or other educational credential in the field from an institution and program that meet certain eligibility requirements in that state passing state or national exams; working in the field for a minimum period of time; and/or completing a certain number of clinical hours.

The licensure boards in each state establish the requirements for licensure/certification for their state. Students and prospective students should contact the licensing board in the state where they plan to practice for specific information concerning the licensure and certification requirements. If your career plans include pursuing professional licensure or certification in your chosen field, it is important to become educated on the credentialing requirements of the state in which you hope to practice.
