Course load

DEFINITION OF A SEMESTER:

For the online or graduate division the Fall Semester = both the Fall I and Fall II terms combined, the Spring Semester = both the Spring I and Spring II terms combined.

For the undergraduate day division, the Fall Semester = Fall I, Fall II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined, the Spring Semester = Spring I, Spring II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined.

The academic year consists of the Fall and Spring Semesters. Summer enrollment is optional.

Undergraduate Day Division

• Full time enrollment = 12 credits per semester (the Fall Semester = Fall I, Fall II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined, the Spring Semester = Spring I, Spring II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined).
• It is suggested that students register for 15–16 credits per semester (the Fall Semester = Fall I, Fall II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined, the Spring Semester = Spring I, Spring II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined.) in order to complete 120 credits in four years.
• Students may not take more than 6 credits or two courses online during any semester (the Fall Semester = Fall I, Fall II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined, the Spring Semester = Spring I, Spring II and Sessions A, B, C and D combined).
• Tuition is charged as a flat rate for 9–16 credits. An overload fee will be charged if students register for more than 16 credits
• If a student wishes to register for more than 18 credits a semester, the Vice President for Academic Affairs or Academic Dean must approve.

Online Division

  • Full time enrollment = 12 credits per semester (Fall I and Fall II combined or Spring I and Spring II combined).
  • Students may not take on ground courses during any semester (Fall I and Fall II combined or Spring I and Spring II combined).
  • Tuition is charged per credit.
  • If a student wishes to register for more than 18 credits in a semester, the Vice President for Academic Affairs or Academic Dean must approve.

Graduate Day Division

  • Full time enrollment = nine credits per semester for the Psychology and Music programs
  • Full time enrollment = five credits for the Professional Performance Certificate
  • Full time enrollment = six credits per semester for the Ed.D. program.
  • Tuition is charged per credit

Graduate Evening Division

  • Full time enrollment = six credits per semester (Fall I and Fall II combined and Spring I and Spring II combined)
  • Tuition is charged per credit

A course passed more than twice cannot count towards financial aid eligibility. However, variable content courses may be taken multiple times towards degree completion. Lists of these courses are outlined in the academic catalog.
