He was again selected to participate in presidential ranking poll

Dr. Robert Watson

Robert Watson, professor of American Studies, was the inaugural speaker for the new "History Happy Hour" at the Truman Presidential Library in April. He also lectured at William Patterson University in New Jersey, the Doral Arrowwood Resort in New York, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. The National Maritime Historical Society highlighted his book, The Ghost Ship of Brooklyn, on its reading list.

Watson was again selected to be one of the participants in the latest presidential ranking poll. Every few years, organizations like the Siena Research Institute, C-SPAN and White House Historical Association select a few of the nation's leading historians to update the presidential rankings. The polls have been in existence since Harvard's Arthur Schlesinger organized the first two polls in 1948 and 1962. Watson has participated in four of the past five polls.
