Lynn University President Kevin M. Ross announced the appointment of Anthony Altieri as interim vice president for student affairs beginning June 3. Altieri, who joined Lynn in 2006, has over 15 years of experience as an administrator in student affairs and has served as Lynn’s associate dean of students since 2013.

In his former position, Altieri oversaw several departments within the Division of Student Affairs, including: Student Involvement, Housing and Residence Life, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, Health Center, Spiritual and Religious Life, the Women’s Center and others. He established a comprehensive competencies-based transitional program for new students, programs to support retention and a Peer Mentor program that fosters student engagement. He also supported the establishment of new university reporting templates for Title IX investigations, among various additional accomplishments.

“Anthony has been a valuable part of our student affairs team for many years, and we look forward to benefiting even more from his ideas, passion and leadership,” says Ross.

Altieri earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from St. John Fisher College; a Master of Science in college student personnel administration from Canisius College; a Master of Business Administration from Lynn University, and a Doctor of Education in higher education administration from the University of Florida. Before joining Lynn, Altieri served as the assistant director of residential life, coordinator of student discipline, and area coordinator at St. John Fisher College, and a resident director at State University of New York College at Brockport.

Altieri succeeds Phil Riordan, who served eight years with Lynn.

Lynn does not currently intend to undertake a search for the longer-term position.
