Be inspired
Experience a highly personalized and individualized education at Lynn, given our uniquely small class sizes and emphasis on comprehensive professional performance training. Our faculty offer private instruction, ensemble coaching and a variety of professional music mastery courses. As a participant in our unique chamber music program, for example, you will be thoughtfully assigned to a chamber group in every semester you are at Lynn. Each group will have a structured rehearsal schedule, a weekly coaching and a required performance.
Graduate students are assigned specific performance requirements to address multiple career paths. You will complete an additional performance focused in a genre of your choosing in consultation with your teacher. You may also take advantage of additional performance opportunities including weekly studio classes and the performance forums, mock orchestral auditions offered every semester, the New Music Festival and multiple master class opportunities.
Under the musical direction of maestro Guillermo Figueroa, the Lynn University Philharmonia attains a professional level of performance and enjoys significant public support for its eight symphonic programs. Lynn’s orchestral training program distinguishes itself by guaranteeing instrumentalists with consistent performance opportunities.
All students accepted into the Conservatory of Music attend Lynn tuition-free.

This course focuses intensely on orchestral performance issues. Sections of the orchestra will split apart to study the vast orchestral repertoire as it applies specifically to their family of instruments. Required of all graduate conservatory wind, and brass students.
This course provides students with an opportunity to learn and perform repertoire from a wide range of periods and styles in an orchestral setting. Rehearsals and concerts provide guided practical experience in all facets of music making.
The chamber music program focuses on the process of coming together to achieve a successful musical experience while recognizing the substantial individual and collective responsibility required to that end. Regular coaching and rehearsals form the basis for developing the skill of musical interaction. Chamber groups are required to perform on campus and throughout the community as assigned by their instructor.
