The Wind Ensemble Department provides graduate and undergraduate students opportunities to study and perform the finest music composed for woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. Programs include works from the 16th through the 21st century for large wind ensemble, chamber winds, brass ensemble, percussion ensemble and woodwind ensemble. This flexibility of the wind ensemble’s instrumentation creates a concentrated musical environment for woodwind, brass and percussion students where they can experiment and develop their performance techniques within a conductor-led medium. My approach to wind ensemble teaching draws on the uniqueness of the ensemble and the specified course objectives.
