Alanna Lecher and April Watson, professors in the College of Arts and Sciences, published the peer-reviewed article New Approaches to Using Old Artifacts: Advances in Oceanography-Archaeology Research in the Limnology and Oceanography Bulletin.
The article outlines all of the old (ecological and zooarchaeological) and new (isotopes) methods that oceanographers and archaeologists use to reconstruct marine environmental change using artifacts from shell middens across the globe.
