Peter Smith joins Lynn University Board of Trustees

Lynn University is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Smith '88 to its board of trustees. His extensive experience in the education technology industry and commitment to innovation in education will be a valuable asset to advancing Lynn's mission and strategic plan.

A visionary leader dedicated to empowering young minds through technology, Smith has been a trusted advisor on Lynn's President's Council for the last ten years.

Smith has a deep passion for addressing the learning gaps within the education industry. For over 12 years, Smith has been the CEO of Kid Orange Tech, a technology solutions provider designed to build a better connection between parents, kids and schools nationwide. He also serves as CEO for Learning Beyond Paper, an online solution designed to help address the gap in affordable curriculum, and Techie Kids Club, a program that teaches students the fundamentals of coding and programming.

"Peter has a vast knowledge of the education technology sector and is dedicated to fostering innovation," said Lynn President Kevin M. Ross. "I am confident Peter will be an asset to Lynn as we further our mission to prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital workforce landscape."

Throughout his work history, Smith enjoyed a successful finance career and spearheaded the development of various cutting-edge programs that inspire students to explore the world of coding, robotics, and STEM education. His passion for equipping students with the necessary digital tools to thrive academically aligns seamlessly with Lynn's commitment to forward-thinking and innovative education.

As a Lynn alumnus, Smith has first-hand knowledge of Lynn's dedication to exceptional educational experiences that prepare students for successful careers. He's also seen Lynn embrace technology as a vital learning tool through the university's recognition as an Apple Distinguished School since 2014.
