Lynn University's debate team wins big at University of Miami

Four members of Lynn's debate team stand together holding their trophies.

Lynn's debate team, supported by coaches Eric Hamm and Kathryn Hamm, emerged victorious at the Bill Todd Debates—hosted by the University of Miami.

The tournament has a history of draws for teams outside of the state, making the competition more challenging. This year, teams attended from Loyola University Chicago and Wheaton University in addition to in-state teams from Florida Atlantic University, Southeastern University, Miami Dade College, Broward College, and the University of Miami. 24 teams competed, making it the largest British Parliamentary debate tournament in the state for the past five years. Two teams of two students from Lynn's team made the final four, and one won overall.
