Barbara Cambia, executive director of Career and Alumni Connections, received the Soroptimist International Women of Distinction award in the education category.
Cambia was honored for her exceptional dedication to the community and her impactful advocacy and fundraising work as a board member for the HabCenter, a vocational training center for adults with developmental disabilities in Boca Raton. Cambia’s philanthropic efforts include more than a two-decade tenure on the Board of Directors at the HabCenter, where she held positions such as president, vice-chair, and secretary, driving significant growth and success.
Cambia has also contributed to mentoring at-risk high school females through Women of Tomorrow, offering invaluable guidance and support. She is actively involved in the South County area with the YMC and is a dedicated Boca Chamber Tourism Committee member, exemplifying her unwavering commitment to the community.
