Summer hours begin the week after Commencement on Monday, May 13, and continue through Friday, Aug. 9. With supervisor approval, all full-time employees may complete the workday an hour early without a reduction in pay.
During this time, university business hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The university will return to regular business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) on Monday, Aug. 12.
How it works
- By reducing lunch breaks from one hour to 30 minutes, eligible employees can benefit from a half hour of “summer hours” leave time.
- Employee Services automatically applies leave time at an employee's regular rate of pay.
- Summer hours may not be used to increase an employee's pay beyond their normally scheduled hours per day and may not be accrued for future use.
Note: Some departments will maintain regular business hours, and supervisors may require employees to work their regular schedule during the summer to meet university needs.
