Lynn University introduced Mike Petroski as assistant vice president for academic affairs earlier this year. In his new role, Petroski is responsible for most of the university's academic operations, including Lynn's Accelerated Degree Scholars Program, managing the curriculum process as well as the academic spaces and infrastructure. Additionally, Petroski will oversee college and program accreditations.

Petroski joined Lynn in 1989 as a faculty member until earning a role as director of faculty development and academic assessment in 2014. Before his new appointment, he served as academic dean in 2019, overseeing the advising center, academic assessment, the registrar and instructional design. For the 2019–20 academic year, he served as interim dean of the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn College of Communication and Design, and in 2021, Petroski was appointed interim dean for the Burton D. Morgan College of Aeronautics, playing an integral role in building a solid leadership team to grow the university's aviation programs.

"Mike has been an incredible collaborator that's served in several leadership roles at the university," said Katrina Carter-Tellison, vice president for academic affairs. "His long-standing tenure and experience at Lynn will pay dividends in his new role as he continues to help strengthen our academic programs and elevate the student experience."

Among his many achievements, Petroski worked as an administrative coordinator for the Dialogues core curriculum, data analyst, program coordinator and computer trainer. In addition, he supported the development of Lynn's iPad-powered learning program and established its iPad institute. His efforts in helping faculty and students make the most of iPads and Apple technology earned him the prestigious designation of Apple Distinguished Educator in 2015. Petroski also developed Lynn's Canvas learning management system and integrated a student success management tool.
