Lynn appoints David Dudgeon to General Counsel

Lynn University today announced David Dudgeon as general counsel. In his new role, Dudgeon will provide the university with legal counsel, risk management, contract review, and advice on policy and compliance. Dudgeon is a legal advisor and collaborator with over 15 years of experience as university in-house counsel.

Before joining Lynn, Dudgeon represented Barry University as general counsel and secretary. During his tenure, he helped launch dual enrollment programs with high schools throughout Florida and advised the university as it opened academic programs in the U.S. and abroad. He provided ongoing guidance and policy review to ensure compliance with federal and state law. He was also a member of the president’s advisory council, retirement plan committee, dual enrollment task force and was a frequent guest lecturer on legal issues in higher education. Prior to his service as in-house counsel, he was engaged in private practice serving clients in a wide variety of general civil and commercial litigation.

Dudgeon is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys and previously served on the Journal of College and University Law editorial board and the Florida Bar Education Law Committee. He earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Florida State University and earned a Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Dudgeon has resided in Boca Raton for nearly 25 years.
