What you'll learn in the UX design program
As a student in this user experience program, you'll learn to use the principles of design thinking to solve problems from a user-first perspective. Along with many other topics, students in the UX design program will:
- Examine what usability is and how it's utilized to create adept user-focused interfaces.
- Utilize proper information architecture techniques and design systems to help create effective prototypes using industry-standard software.
- Build user-friendly products for traditional screen-based applications as well as more progressive platforms that may or may not be fully realized yet.

Courses
Browse the curriculum, course descriptions and requirements for the User Experience Design program.
In this course, students will create early-stage application prototypes that are used for organization and examination purposes. These prototypes will also be used by students to introduce user testing techniques typically used by industry professionals in the early stages of development.
In this course, students will examine how interface elements have been used, are currently being used, and can be used in the future. Students will examine the connection between the user and the user interface by studying historic precedent and accepted conventions.
Students in this course will be charged with solving problems from a user-first perspective using systematic techniques and steps that encourage diverse perspectives and innovative thought.

Master’s in psychology, criminal justice, educational leadership, exceptional student education, public administration and clinical mental health counseling are $650 per credit in 2023–2024.
Instructional material fees are a one-time charge and do not apply to students who reside internationally or plan to provide their own iPad, and/or required apps.
