Lynn University and Republic Airways announced the launch of an aviation career collaboration for Lynn's Burton D. Morgan College of Aeronautics and its aviation students. The Republic Airways and Lynn University Career Pipeline Interview Program provides students access to highly sought-after pilot positions with the airline.
With airlines facing a shortage of nearly 30,000 pilots by 2032, the program aims to expand the Republic Airways pipeline of qualified pilots by offering preferential interviews to Lynn aviation graduates. Eligible students can apply for select pilot positions with Republic Airways after completing 1,250 flight hours, compared to the customary 1,500 flight hours required. Students will then complete their remaining training and flight hours with Republic Airways, saving them approximately six months on their journey to employment in the aviation industry.
"As demand for professional pilots continues to grow in the industry, our partnership will serve as a resource for Republic Airways to vet qualified candidates while providing our students a clear plan to becoming an airline pilot," said David Cohen, dean for Lynn's Burton D. Morgan College of Aeronautics. "As part of the program, we will coordinate and host multiple on-campus visits with Republic Airways, which will provide students priority interview opportunities and create potential conditional employment offers."
Republic Airways operates a fleet of more than 220 Embraer 170/175 aircraft and provides flights for partner brands, including American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express.
