Lynn University joins Handshake job platform

Lynn University recently joined the Handshake platform—the No. 1 online job-searching platform for university students and recent graduates.

On Handshake, students can create a customized profile to search for internships and employment. In turn, the platform recommends students with compatible profiles to recruiters searching for fresh talent. The software is currently home to 650,000 employers, from local companies in Boca Raton to some of the largest employers in the country, including 100% of Fortune 500 companies.

“To give you some perspective, the job board we had before this had about 600 jobs posted in one year. Now we’ve had Handshake for two months, and we have almost 11,000 jobs on it,” said Jessica Waites, Lynn’s internship employment coordinator.

On Handshake, users can filter jobs by type, company size and location and, with employers across all 50 states, they can find part-time employment during the school year or a summer internship back home. Inclusive to Lynn’s international student body, the platform also provides unique filters that search for employers who sponsor CPT, OPT and work visas.

Other useful features include virtual meetings with recruiters, connections to previous employees of potential companies, and invitations to local events, career fairs and information sessions.

The best part? Every student at Lynn already has a Handshake account, which they can activate online.
