Lynn University Center receives LEED Silver certification

Lynn University Center

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) certified the Christine E. Lynn University Center LEED Silver.

This is Lynn University’s third building to receive the globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement. The Mohamed Indimi International Business Center and Mary and Harold Perper Residence Hall also earned LEED certification.

Gensler architects designed Lynn University Center as an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy and lively environment and emphasized sustainable building practices.

    • Over 75% of the construction waste was recycled during construction.
    • Nearly a quarter of materials used is composed of recycled content.
    • Over 20% of materials were extracted and manufactured within a 500-mile radius.
    • More than 50% of the wood used was harvested from a responsibly managed forest known to provide environmental benefits.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. It provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving buildings.
