Instructional excellence has always been a hallmark of Lynn University. This year, for the first time, the Faculty Standards and Professional Development Committee recognized faculty achievement in three categories: teaching, scholarship and service. Winners were announced at the most recent Academic Council meeting.

Associate Professor Gary Carlin received the Teaching and Dedication to Students Award. The honor recognized Carlin's commitment to his students, in both classroom and extracurricular activities, such as iPulse and Pulse Agency. Stefanie Powers, assistant dean and associate professor, remarked on Carlin's dedication. "He is devoted in a manner rarely seen and is accessible at all hours of the day," she said. "It is not surprising to notice the dedication Professor Carlin exhibits to his students and, in return, the high regard they accord to him."

College of Arts and Sciences Dean Gary Villa describes Assistant Professor Alanna Lecher, who received the Scholarship and Creative Activities Award, as "a leader in championing undergraduate student research at Lynn." Lecher has conducted biogeochemistry studies around the world, to learn how humans, biology, and geology alter the chemical cycles of the earth. She has shared her expertise at events ranging from a symposium in Miami to a National Science Foundation workshop in Minnesota. And she is dedicated to helping students become well-rounded, critical and creative thinkers.

Antonella Regueiro

Assistant Professor and Social Impact Faculty Fellow Antonella Regueiro received the Service and Dedication to Lynn University Award. Regueiro is known for her dedication to social impact initiatives on campus and beyond. She coordinates logistics for experiential learning programs, such as the Ambassador Corps and Millennium Fellowship, and builds connections between the Social Impact Lab and other academic departments.

"Antonella has and continues to work to build opportunities for Lynn students to participate in meaningful social engagement work to better their communities and the lives of other people," said Villa. "She is a leader in the effort to build the ideals of social impact and community service into the Lynn experience."

The entire Lynn family joins the committee in applauding these exceptional educators.
