Repertoire
Prescreening
- 20–30 minutes of music from three contrasting style periods
- Selections on the recording can be the same as or different from the ones you choose to perform in the final audition stage.
Technique
- All major and minor scales and arpeggios, four octaves
Baroque
- From J.S. Bach, a toccata, partita, suite or prelude and Fugue from the Well-Tempered Clavier, or two Scarlatti or two Soler sonatas
Classical
- A complete sonata or set of variations by Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart or Schubert
Romantic
- A substantial composition from the works of such composers as Brahms, Chopin, Franck, Gottschalk, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninov or Schumann
20th or 21st Century
- A significant composition from a major composer such as Albeniz, Barber, Bartok, Copland, Debussy, Ginastera, Glass, Granados, Ives, Messiaen, Prokofiev, Ravel, Rzewski, Schnittke, Schoenberg, Stravinsky or Tania León
Prescreening
- The pre-screening video should include approximately 30–40 minutes of music from at least three contrasting style periods and include an etude of virtuosity.
- Selections on the recording can be the same as or different from the ones you choose to perform at the live or virtual audition.
