POL 380Theories of Democracy

This course examines historical and contemporary theories of democracy, as well as problems and issues arising from the development and practice of democracy. students will explore debates about the meaning and value of democracy, the varieties of democratic regimes and models of democracy, and related concepts such as authority, legitimacy, representation, and participation.
