HCM 105Healthcare Delivery in the US

An overview of the US healthcare delivery system including its history and an examination of the structure, organization, finance, governance, stakeholders, personnel, and cultural components of the US healthcare. An emphasis will be placed on the influences exerted by economic, political, and social forces within the larger society and the health care system's response to these influences. This course is also designed to provide students who are interested in a career in healthcare with information about the diverse contributions of health professionals. Topics will include healthcare delivery and education requirements, and professional responsibilities for various healthcare professions.
