AVF 220Instrument Flight Theory - Basic Ground School

Instrument flight theory in compliance with FAR Part 141 that prepares the student to accomplish a ground progress check covering basic altitude instrument flying knowledge and basic instrument navigation concepts. Topics include instrument regulations, pilot physiological factors, aeronautical decision making, attitude flying theory, navigation aids, airspace and flight environment, air route traffic control center, terminal facilities, and instrument charts. Note: this course meets the partial FAA requirements for Instrument Pilot ground school, but does not include any hands-on training in controlling a physical aircraft. In addition, this course provides fundamental theoretical knowledge that is useful for students pursuing non-flight aviation programs.
