The Lynn Debate Team aims to improve students’ skills in public speaking, argumentation, and persuasion. Members can participate in local, state, national, and international competitions, or simply come to practice, all in order to strengthen their academic and professional lives, as collegiate debate is listed as a top extracurricular activity employers look for given the skills involved. The commitment level is up to the individual: we have members who compete at every tournament offering and some who stop by occasionally. The team has previously competed at Yale University and the Pan-American Universities Debating Championships, along with having won events at the Florida Intercollegiate Forensic Association State Championship.
