Soar to new heights

At Lynn University, our goal is for aeronautic students to receive the necessary skills to become successful pilots. Through the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program, student pilots receive mentorship, program guidance and a clearly defined path to becoming a first officer at Spirit Airlines.

Our partnership with Spirit Airlines opens another door for Lynn's highly trained students to advance and achieve success in their future aviation careers.

How the program works

  1. Students in the aeronautics degree program can apply for the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program after completing their sophomore year or 500 hours of flight time, whichever comes first.
  2. Students are interviewed by Spirit and, if selected, given a conditional offer of employment contingent on completing a Spirit-approved ATP/CTP course and Jet Transition program, as well as an ATP knowledge test and 1250 hours of training.
  3. Students are mentored as they work toward completing their degree program and the flight hours required for an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  4. Program pilots who meet all requirements are hired as A320 first officers at Spirit.

Fast track to the flight deck

Lynn's collaboration with Spirit Airlines allows students to attend a traditional university while gaining valuable experience toward a future flying career. Lynn offers students real-world flight time as early as their first week of instruction, and the pathway program leads eligible pilots to a job right after graduation.
