Jennifer Torres, assistant professor in the College of Aeronautics, received a teaching award at the soFLY Women in Aviation International's (WAI) "Flights of Fancy: A Toast to Women in Aviation" event. She was joined by Lynn University College of Aeronautics WAI chapter members Alyssa Duffy '25, Tianna Commock '25 and Mahiba Nasir '25, along with alumni Lynn flight instructors Shamel Nazareth '24 and Omar Omar '24.
The celebration honored female aviation leaders and provided students valuable opportunities to meet industry leaders and explore new career paths. Leaders recognized included Alyssa Duffy, recipient of the soFLY scholarship, and keynote speaker Clara Bennett, executive director of the Boca Raton Airport Authority.
