Lynn community comes together to support a sustainable campus

J-Term class cleans up campus.

Lynn University emphasizes environmental responsibility and relies on the commitment of its students and employees to create a sustainable campus. The university uses conscious building and maintenance practices to reduce waste and save water and energy, while student initiatives like banning plastic straws in the dining commons plays a big part in achieving this goal.

One of Lynn students’ largest sustainability projects each year takes place over January Term (J-Term). Freshmen sort waste, clean the canal, plant new greenery, and work on the Olewine Preserve and butterfly garden.

Lynn’s fifth annual Sustainability Day is Feb. 21. The educational fair will highlight campus sustainability initiatives, such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction and more. Attendees will enjoy food, games and activities while learning about environmental responsibility on campus.
