Sophia Stone, assistant professor of philosophy in the College of Arts and Science, presented "The Science of Number in Plato's Parmenides" at Portland State University's Socratic Society May 17. She also gave a response paper to Andrew Payne's "Dianoia, Dialectic, and Giving an Account of Hypotheses in Republic 6 and 7,” at the West Coast Plato Workshop, Lewis & Clark University in Portland, Oregon, May 19.  

LYNN freshmen pianists MEIYU WU (1st place) and KIMIA RAFIEIAN (2nd place) are winners of the 2018 FSMTA Gray Perry Young Collegiate Piano Award Competition. The competitive event was held on May 19 at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. Wu and Rafieian are members of the piano studio of Roberta Rust in the Conservatory of Music.
