Lynn University honors Veterans Day

Ceremony and Red, White and Blue Barbecue celebrate service members

Lynn Veteran day

Veterans Day is celebrated at Lynn University each year to pay respect to the brave men and women who served in the U.S. military. This Nov. 11, President Kevin M. Ross led an appreciation ceremony in the Mary and Harold Perper Plaza.

“Today, we are here to thank those who made a commitment to courageously serve and protect our country at home and abroad, in times of war and in times of peace,” said President Ross. “We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, because without them, we wouldn't be able to enjoy all of our great democracy's freedoms.”

President Ross recognized each veteran in attendance, naming alumni, students, friends, family and employees. He also shared Lynn’s commitment to serving veterans through the GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program.

Following the recognition ceremony, the annual Red, White and Blue Barbecue with American fare and live music was held in the Elmore Dining Commons.
