The Florida Teacher Certification Exams (FTCE), professional exam, and subject area K-6, are used by the State of FLorida to access the knowledge of teacher certification candidates. Florida law requires that teachers demonstrate mastery of basic skills, professional knowledge, and content area of specialization. If pre-service teachers want to teach in a Florida public elementary, middle, or secondary school, he or she will have to take and pass the appropriate state mandated tests.
