Lynn is dedicated to sculpturing the core curriculum to fit the needs of the individual student. Contemporary research supports the evidence that no two students learn in the same way, or at the same time. Lynn's Dialogues of Learning program acknowledges that conclusion by discovering and understanding each student's individual strengths, interests and needs.
William Leary has been a professor in the College of Education since 1998. Prior to coming to Lynn, Leary served as superintendent of schools in Boston, Mass. Rockville Centre, N.Y. North Babylon, N.Y. Broward County, Fla. and Gloucester, Mass. He has held the following positions:
- Director of curriculum development for Boston Public Schools
- Executive director for the Metropolitan Planning Center in Newton, Mass.
- Associate professor and chair for the Department of Educational Leadership and Psychology at the University of Mississippi
- Visiting professor for Suffolk University in Boston, Mass.
- Producer and director of The Superintendent' Forum for New England Cable Television
- Regular columnist for the Boston Herald, Long Island News and Gloucester Times
- Member of the Governor's Task Force on Alternative Education for the State of Florida
- Member of the Attorney General's Task Force on Public Education in Massachusetts
- Member of the National Commission on Educational Supervision for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and of the National Education Evaluation Task Force for the American Association of School Administrators
- Presenter on Multiple Intelligences at the Lyndon B. Johnson Library at the University of Texas
- Trustee of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts
- Member of the Long Island, N.Y., Regional Planning Board
Leary has doctorates in Education from Boston University and Harvard. He was recently named to "Who's Who in America" for the year 2011 and has been named to "Who's Who" since 1977.
