Professional Profile:

Rick Sayers became Executive Director – Internships and Cooperative Education for the College of Business and Management at Lynn University effective June 1, 2012. During the three (3) prior years, Sayers served as Executive in Residence for the College of Business and Management. In that role, he taught Human Resources management courses at the undergraduate and MBA levels. With a record of HR management achievement in distribution, manufacturing, and consulting industries, including international human resources management and strategy he was able to provide practical application and business insight to his students. Sayers has demonstrated leadership at the corporate officer level in talent management, executive compensation and benefits, organizational restructuring, corporate governance, strategic planning and employment law compliance, executive coaching, mergers and acquisitions.

In the private sector, Sayers served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources & Corporate Compliance Officer at Agilysys, Inc., a leading provider of innovative information systems, technology and software expertise in retail and hospitality industries. He set strategic direction and led operational execution for the human resource and corporate compliance functions as a member of the company' executive committee. He was responsible for the design and implementation of executive programs such as a Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan (SERP), Benefit Equalization Plan (BEP), Executive Life Insurance Plan, Long Term and Disability Plan, as well as an on-line corporate governance program and compliance training for all employees.

Sayers also was a Managing Director for the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. in 1997 and 1998 in Cleveland, OH. He was Corporate Vice President of Human Resources for Invacare Corporation from 1991 until 1997 in Elyria, OH. During that time he also had General Management responsibility for the Aftermarket Parts business. Sayers began his career with TRW, Inc. where he held positions of increasing responsibility including Vice President Human Resources for the global Steering & Suspension Group, Director Human Resources for the Replacement Parts Division,  Director Human Resources for the Noblesville (Indiana) Casting Division and Manager Human Resources for the Ross Gear Division - Lafayette (Indiana) plant.

Sayers has been actively involved in industry and human resources related organizations such as the Human Resource Policy Association (HRPA) and the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). He was a board member of the not- for- profit organization Recovery Resources and an advisory committee member for the United Way in greater Cleveland, Ohio.
