Katrina Carter-Tellison B.A., M.S.W., Ph.D.

Carter-Tellison oversees curriculum, accreditation, faculty assessment and development, career services, international student services and study abroad, and the Social Impact Lab. She also supports Lynn’s iPad-powered learning program and student retention efforts.

She began her Lynn career in 2004 as assistant professor of sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences. She served as criminal justice program chair, curriculum chair, College of Arts and Sciences dean and academic dean. Her work implementing Lynn’s Dialogues curriculum highlights her successes.

In addition, she created Lynn’s annual Celebration of the Arts festival and Broadway-style variety show, launched Lynn’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama, and integrated the Navigate student success platform. She also oversees the university’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges accreditation.

Carter-Tellison's intellectual interests and research pursuits focus on three main areas: curriculum, immigration, and inequality and social stratification. She earned Lynn’s Faculty Member of the Year, University of Miami Special Departmental Award for Ph.D., Tuition Graduate Dean Fellowship at the University of Miami, and Graduate Award to Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) Summer Program.
