Teaching philosophy

As a student of history, John Pickering believes the study of history provides one with a critical understanding of the present and allows us to pursue such an understanding with a variety of disciples (literature, films, economics, geography, etc.). He believes as a professor it is his obligation to create enthusiasm in the classroom for the pursuit of knowledge.
