Professional profile

Cox directly supports Lynn’s strategic plan to expand programs and opportunities for students by developing flexible learning programs.

He began his career at Lynn in 1981 as a mathematics instructor and later played central roles in academics and athletics including department chair, dean for multiple colleges and coach of the women’s golf team. He also developed the Pine Tree Camps computer camp.

Most recently, Cox served as vice president for academic affairs. He designed the curriculum for the university’s award-winning iPad-powered learning program and developed student learning opportunities with untraditional educational partners. Under his leadership, the university intensified the focus of its academic offerings and trained faculty to provide first-rate teaching through creative use of technology.

Cox received the Outstanding Professor award twice. He also led the women’s golf team to three consecutive national championships and was a three-time recipient of the National Women’s Golf Coach of the Year award.
