Teaching philosophy

Denise Belafonte-Young believes that mastering communication and production skills requires both theory and practice. As such, she stresses focus on critical thinking as an important skill that will allow students to both create and analyze messages, and then execute visual and audible works to emphasize their research efforts. She is greatly rewarded when students reach the understanding and caliber of professionalism in their work, as she is able to use the tools and creativity of her professional works and experiences and watch our students develop.
