Teaching philosophy

Daniel Coes’ teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that animation is a seamless fusion of technology and artistic expression. He views animation as a powerful tool for communication, storytelling, and education. His student-centered approach focuses on nurturing creativity while also imparting technical proficiency. He values the process of exploration and discovery, encouraging students to think critically and experiment freely within the realm of animation.

With technology, markets, and society itself changing drastically, he believes that education is at the center of these changes, that it is the educator's role to embrace and adapt to these changes, and above all, to help students find their own voices and versions of success. His role is to stand with his students, not just as an instructor, but as an ally, adapting methods, embracing change, and staying receptive to the transformative nature of both education and animation. This commitment transcends the mere transfer of knowledge, it encompasses the cultivation of an environment where students are empowered to be protagonists of their learning journey.
