Teaching philosophy

I believe that it is important to recognize that every student is an individual, and whenever possible, the student should be taught in an individual manner. In music, we communicate a message through sound. When students have physical obstacles to their music-making, those obstacles must be addressed, but always with a musical message as the end result. Ultimately, my goal is to show every student how to become their own teacher, and to be self-sufficient in addressing their musical challenges.
