Boniforti focuses on organizational strategy to unlock value for students and identify large-scale business and technology solutions. He helps Lynn deliver measurable, cost-effective results to make its strategic priorities a reality.

Prior to his role as chief strategy and technology officer, Boniforti served as Lynn’s chief information officer for 12 years and advised leadership on technology strategy and infrastructure planning. He oversees network and information services for the campus; accreditation activities; institutional research and the library including the university’s Digital Press; and design and implementation of the university’s award-winning iPad learning program.

Boniforti led extensive technology preparations for the 2012 U.S. Presidential Debate at Lynn, which has enabled the school to leapfrog other universities and implement innovative new approaches to campus design and mobile learning. And most recently, he used his experience at Stanford’s d.School to lead students, faculty, alumni and administrators in the development of the Lynn 2025seven-year strategic plan through interactive, hands-on design thinking sessions.

Boniforti is a South Florida Business Journal Top CIO; earned a position on the 2014 CIO 100 list; was a 2018 South Florida Business and Wealth Apogee Award winner, and has been featured as a technology expert in Campus Technology magazine, EdTech Magazine, TheChronicle of Higher Education and Inside Higher Ed. He regularly speaks as a guest at educational technology presentations at national conferences including eMerge Americas, EDUCAUSE, ACUTA, UBTech and others.

In his local community, Boniforti advocates for training future leaders in technology and is on the board for Palm Beach Tech. He supports coding programs for elementary school children and works to offer Lynn as a lab for children’s coding courses.

Boniforti earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, an MBA from Lynn University and a doctorate in educational leadership and management with a concentration in creativity and innovation from Drexel University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
