Amanda Sumner writes, edits and proofreads university print and digital communications according to university brand guidelines. She edits LynnSight and Lynn magazine, sharing stories that reflect the breadth of the Lynn community’s passions, strengths and successes.
Sumner became interested in university communications while poring over college promotional materials as a high school student, and she wrote her undergraduate admissions essay on college viewbooks—the good, the bad and the misspelled. She joined Lynn in July 2018, and has over 25 years of experience in writing and editing for book publishers, newspapers, magazines and business publications.

After attending Cornell University, Sumner transferred to the University of Manchester in the U.K., where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in literature and linguistics.
She also has completed a certificate program in copyediting through the University of California, San Diego Extension program.
