Transfer student admission

Make the jump! Earn your degree.

Ready to start your journey?

We help many students transfer into Lynn each year.

If you’ve earned more than 12 credits from another institution and wish to study in our traditional day program on campus, you are a transfer student.

If you have fewer than 12 credits, review requirements for first-year students. If you wish to study in the evenings or online, review requirements for iLynn students.

Admission requirements

  • Completed application
  • Essay
  • $45 nonrefundable application fee
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and/or universities
  • Dean of students certification and recommendation form

Applicants to the Institute for Achievement and Learning should submit a current (within three years) psycho-educational evaluation.

Interviews are not required for admission, with the exception of Conservatory of Music auditions and others on an as-needed basis.

Admission decision

Once you’ve fulfilled our admission requirements, you’re ready for the next step: admission decision. We value the time and effort you put into your application process, so we do our best to keep you informed of your admission status.

We evaluate applications for fall, spring and summer terms on a rolling basis. If you plan to begin in the fall and apply by the “early action” deadline, you’ll receive notification of your admission status by Dec. 15. All other applicants receive status notification approximately within one month of our receipt of all required documents.

Transfer GPA

For admission and scholarship purposes only, we calculate a transfer GPA based on all courses taken at previous institutions. Once enrolled, we calculate your GPA based on only those grades you earn at Lynn.
