Note: Aviation operation students are not eligible for any Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificates through Lynn University. Students can earn their FAA certificates on their own at a local flight school.
Aviation operations information
Learning the operations side of the aviation industry can help you determine in what field you may want to specialize. This operations degree takes a deep dive into both the business and aeronautics industries. Along with your core curriculum, you'll take a variety of courses in both business and aviation operations, including:
- Primary flight theory, aviation safety, weather, and history
- Management and leadership, business analytics and operations management
- Air traffic basics, aviation technologies, aircraft operations, and aviation regulations and laws

This course is an analysis of the application of various technologies in the aerospace industry. Students will explore the application of technology in aircraft, planning, scheduling, dispatching, avionics, ATC aerodynamics and navigation systems. An understanding of multiple applications of technologies and the advantages of combining various technological advantages in varying segments of the aerospace industry and these effects on the efficiency of the industry is the ultimate goal of this course.
Introduction to the basic concepts of organizational management. This course offers a start on the managerial "tool kit" required for effective performance in this profession. Emphasis is on analysis of managerial functions and organizational behavior factors that influence effective management.
This course is an analysis of the application of contemporary operations techniques of the three pillars of the aviation industry: airlines, airports and fixed base operations. Included are operations functions, current issues, domestic and foreign operations, domestic and foreign regulations, aircraft selection, labor relations, airport master plans and strategic planning. The course will include a major student project.
