Courses
Browse the curriculum, course descriptions and requirements for the Communication and Media: Strategic Communication (STEM) program.
This course draws on crisis communication theory to prepare students for and respond to crisis from a communication perspective. The courses uses real-life case studies to simulate actual applications. Students will identify what constitutes an organizational crisis and how to design effective crisis communication messages for various media platforms. Students will create messages that rebuild or expand public trust during and after a crisis.
Integration of every form of communication to deliver the same powerful message. Students use a customer-focused approach that combines the full range of information tools and points of contact to build customer loyalty. They also develop strategies for the allocation of communications resources.
This course offers an overview of media research on cultural differences relating to domestic and international concerns. Theories and research pertaining to international media and multicultural communication are reviewed.

Costs are based on completion of 36 total credits. Some programs and courses may have additional costs.
Master’s in psychology, criminal justice, educational leadership, exceptional student education, public administration and clinical mental health counseling are $650 per credit in 2023–2024.
Instructional material fees are a one-time charge and do not apply to students who reside internationally or plan to provide their own iPad, and/or required apps.
