This course introduces students to the process of campaign development, management, and evaluation. Students will learn how to select a unique combination of communication tools (advertising, public relations, social media, special events and sponsorship) to best communicate their campaign messages and reach their target consumers as well as how to communicate campaign ideas and art direction to a design team.
This course draws on crisis communication theory to prepare students for and respond to crisis from a communication perspective. The courses uses real-life case studies to simulate actual applications. Students will identify what constitutes an organizational crisis and how to design effective crisis communication messages for various media platforms. Students will create messages that rebuild or expand public trust during and after a crisis.
This course offers an overview of media research on cultural differences relating to domestic and international concerns. Theories and research pertaining to international media and multicultural communication are reviewed.
