Become a storyteller and realize your vision through technical and creative training. As a film major, you'll learn how to work in the media industry, and gain hands-on filmmaking experience through active participation in pre-production, production and post-production assignments. Plus, you'll learn video production, digital imaging, film appreciation and film theory.
Not only will you learn to appreciate all the particulars of filmmaking, but you'll also gain a firm background in the creative, technical and theoretical study of the cinema, television and video media. A course designed to acquaint students with the basic elements of pre-visualization and videography techniques that are applied in a variety of production platforms. The course emphasizes creative storytelling through image composition, camera movement, editing, sound, lighting and on-air performance.
This course examines the basic concepts and core writings that have laid the foundation to contemporary discourse of film theory and criticism.
This course is an introduction to the basic principles and techniques of motion picture production. Students produce short film projects based on the fundamentals of storytelling and creative visualization/shot selection: lens, angle, composition, camera movement, editing and sound.
