Steal the show

The B.F.A. in drama program prepares you to become a professional actor for theater, movies, television and musicals. This unique and comprehensive curriculum blends traditional and contemporary theatrical training methods through innovative approaches that keep pace with the demands of the industry.

Choose between two specializations, acting or musical theater performance. Students specializing in acting will focus on advanced acting techniques, directing, technical theater and playwriting. Students specializing in musical theater performance will study singing and vocal techniques, dance, music theory and musical theater history.

In order to be considered for this program, students must audition and fill out an application through Acceptd.

Show your talent

Drama majors will help produce eight productions, including the annual Celebration of the Arts, two intimate cabarets, one student-directed production, two mainstage musicals and two mainstage plays.

  3. Submit your audition
  • If auditioning live on-campus (highly encouraged): Please select your date. You will be contacted and given an audition time.
  • If auditioning live at a conference: You do not have to submit a video before the conference. If you are called back following your audition at the conference, you will be asked to submit an audition video.
  • If auditioning through video submission: Please submit your video audition.

Live on-campus audition dates

  • Feb. 9, 2019
    • If you are unable to attend the Feb. 9 audition, please request a private audition at another time.

Regional and National Conference audition dates

  • National Unified Auditions: Chicago (Feb. 3–7)
  • Southeastern Theatre Conference (Feb. 27–Mar. 3)

Acceptance into the program
Students should expect a decision regarding acceptance into the program on or before Mar. 18, 2019.

Admittance is for the fall semester 2019. There is no spring or summer admittance.

Estimated tuition

Full-time tuition for a traditional day undergraduate student is estimated to cost $35,960 annually.
