Dively luncheon lecture brings CNN political analyst and former White House Chief of Staff to campus
Democrat Paul Begala and Republican Andrew Card debate issues, candidates five days before election

On Oct. 31, just five days before the presidential election, The Dively Frontier in Globalization Luncheon Lecture Series at Lynn University will host a “face off” between CNN political analyst, Democrat Paul Begala, and former White House chief of staff, Republican Andrew Card. The two will discuss such topics as the economy, international affairs and experience vs. change at noon, Friday, Oct. 31 in the Louis and Anne Green Center on campus.

From the White House’s Situation Room to CNN’s news program of the same name, Begala’s experience gives him an unmatched perspective on politics and the media as he comments on the 2008 political season. The CNN political analyst and former top aide to President Clinton was reportedly the first person to predict the Democratic takeover of the House in 2006. Begala is the author of several New York Times best-selling books, and his latest book, The Third Term: Why John McCain is Really Just More George W. Bush will be released in October 2008.

On Nov. 26, 2000, Card was appointed Chief of Staff in the presidential administration of Texas Governor George W. Bush. Card was chosen because of his impressive service record in the public and private sector, including serving in the administrations of two former presidents. Card's last day was April 14, 2006, making him the second-longest serving White House chief of staff. Currently, Card is a senior counselor at the global public relations firm Fleischman-Hillard, serving on the international advisory board.

Tickets are $70 (includes lunch). To purchase tickets, visit asoft107.accrisoft.com/tickets or contact the ticket office at tickets@lynn.edu / 561-237-9000.
