The Heller Family Diagnostic Center
Services for students that have academic difficulties.
The Heller Center has a range of services for day and evening students who may be struggling academically. Included among those who use our services are students who:
- are returning to college after many years and are unsure of their skills
- have failed a course multiple times
- have a previous Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- are on academic probation
- have difficulty organizing/prioritizing information
Program offerings:
- diagnostic testing in the areas of intelligence, achievement, learning styles and study skills
- referrals to the appropriate assistance resources/services within and outside Lynn
- individual and group tutoring for most Lynn University courses, conducted by master's and Ph.D.-level professionals
- reading and writing specialists
- psycho-educational testing administered by a licensed psychologist
- face-to-face meetings to discuss academic strengths and weaknesses
- recommendations for increasing academic skills
- follow-up meetings to ensure an understanding of the assessments and recommendations
- assistive classroom technology and software
Cost:
- no fee for diagnostic testing services
- no fee for group tutoring
- $50 an hour for individual tutoring
Hours:
- individual meetings with center staff 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
- tutoring sessions 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Thursday/9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday
